KATRA, Apr 17: Pahalwan Rimpy of Ludhiana in Punjab lifted 32nd Salora Kesari 2016 title by defeating Wrestler Ishaq (Lalu) of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu in a very tough fight for the first malli bout that lasted for 13 minutes at Salora in Jammu.
Dangal was organized by Salora Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma, Chuni Lal Ramotra and Rajinder Kumar Ramotra.
Choudhary Noor Ali, District Secretary National Conference was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed cash prizes among the winners and runners-up Wrestlers. Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India and president Senior Citizens Welfare Forum Katra presided over the function.
DySP Nagrota, Bharat Bushan Sharma, retired SP Prithvi Raj Sharma and Social Activist and Wrestling promoter, Ram Paul Sharma were the guests of honour.
SHO Jhajjarkotli Ravinder Singh, SHO Parvez, Naib Tehsildar Rashid Mohd, Assitant Sub. Inspector Tilk Raj Sharma, Sarpanch Madan Dubey, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Sarpanch Bansi Lal, Sarpanch Romesh Chander and Sarpanch Rehmat Ali were also present on the occasion.
In all 72 bouts were played in the one day long dangal. Noor Ali, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Chuni Lal awarded cash prize of Rs. 9000 to the winner of 1st Malli bout, Rimpy, while Rs. 6,000 was given to runners-up wrestler Ishaq by Rajinder Kumar, DySP Bharat Bushan Sharma and SHO Ravinder Singh
The proceedings of the event were conducted by Mohd Fareed, while welcome address was presented by Rajinder Kumar Ramotra.
The vote of thanks was presented by Chuni Lal Ramotra.
