Srinagar, May 23: Jammu and Kashmir Police in collaboration with District Youth Services and Sports Kulgam organized a day long sports festival at District Police lines Kulgam today.
A police spokesman said the festival started with a friendly cricket match between police team and a combined students’ team of district Kulgam. “At the end of the match, a ceremony was held in which sports kits viz cricket, volleyball and school bags with books were distributed among the 200 students from different schools of the district”, he added.
“A large gathering of civilians and students witnessed the match and the ceremony,” he said.
SP Kulgam requested the participants to join hands with police in creating peaceful atmosphere in the district and added that such events will be organized in future to enhance the sports talent of the youth.
