JAMMU, Mar 13: A meeting of J&K Wrestling Association was held today under the chairmanship of its president Dushyant Sharma, here today.
The meeting decided that J&K Wrestling Association will conduct 22nd J&K State Wrestling Championship 2017 on March 18 and March 19, 2017 at Bajrangi Akahara Shalamar, here.
Over 100 wrestlers of J&K State from different districts including J&K Police Wrestling team will participate in the Championship.
According to the organizers Dr SP Vaid, Director General of Police, will be the Chief Guest on the Opening Ceremony on March 18, 2017, while Sunil Sharma, Minister of State for Sports will be the Chief Guest on the Closing Ceremony on March 19, 2017.
Wahed ur-Rehman Parra, Secretary J&K state Sports Council will be the Guest of Honour on the Closing Ceremony.
The wrestlers desirous to take part in the Championship have been advised to report to Deeraj Sharma and Jai Bharat, NIS qualified coaches at Bajrangi Akhara, Shalamar Road at 9 am on March 18, 2017 for weighing and entry of their participation in the Championship.
The meeting was attended by Vijay Pahalwan, Vice President, Narinder Mahajan, Vice President, Ajay Vaid, General Secretary, Raju Sharma, Treasurer, besides Kuldeep Sharma, Swarn Lal, Raj Kumar, Ravinder Kumar and Mohd Sadiq.
