JAMMU, Oct 13: Law School crushed New Age College, Phinter, Billawar to enter next round, while YCET registered win over GDC Kathua and sailed into the semis of the ongoing Inter-College Cricket Tournament, being organized by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here today.
In the first match, New Age College defeated Law School by 7 wickets to enter next stage. Electing to bat first after winning the toss, New Age College scored 98 runs by losing 5 wickets in 15 overs. Anjum and Gulshan scored 29 runs each, while Rahees made 12 runs.
From Law College side, Gourav scalped 2 wickets, while Anil, Vijander and Sharuk took one wicket each.
In reply, Law School chased the target in 14 overs by losing 3 wickets. Gourav Khajuria played a magnificent inning of 72 runs, while Sharukh scored 11 runs.
From New College side, Munish, Rahees and Jaspal scalped one wicket each.
In the second match, YCET registered win over GDC Kathua by 2 wickets and sailed into the semifinals of the tournament.
Batting first after winning the toss, GDC Kathua made 93 runs by losing all wickets in 18.3 overs. Anuj was highest scorer with 35 runs, while Kaushal and Anmol scored 21 and 10 runs each.
From YCET side, Harjot Singh and Sagar scalped 3 wickets each, while Harjinder took 2 wickets.
In the second inning, YCET chased the target in 18.5 overs by losing 8 wickets. Aaqib was the top scorer with 32 runs, while Rishav, Harjinder Singh and Usman scored 18, 15 and 14 runs respectively.
From GDC Kathua side, Rajan Kumar scalped 3 wickets, while Anuj and Anmol took 2 wickets. Amrit clinched one wicket.
The matches were officiated by Saleem-ur-Rehman, Opinder Singh, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Vinod, Sadiq Hussain and Vijay Kumar.
