REASI, Sept 11: Three-Day Divisional Level Inter-District Fencing Tournament for under-14, 17 and 19 boys and girls commenced, here today.
The tournament was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar, in presence of Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary, J&K State Sports Council and President, Indian Style Wrestling Association, who was guest of honour on the occasion.
Over 200 fencers from five districts–Jammu, Udhampur, Samba, Ramban and Reasi are vying for honours in this tournament.
Presentation of cultural programme at the inaugural ceremony added colour and flavor to the festive occasion.
Among others present were Chhotu Lal, International Fencer and National Fencing Coach, Romail Singh, Headmaster HS Kambal Danga, Retd Headmaster Madan Lal Sharma, ZPEOs Om Parkash, Manohar Lal and Jasbir Singh, Lecturers Ajay Billa and Ashok Katal, Sports Council Kabaddi and Kho-Kho Coach, Anil Sharma.
